The koi hobby sadly lost another legend with the recent passing of Nigel Caddock.
Some of you will know his former business “Top Ponds,” some will know his original monthly “Nishikigoi International” magazine, some will own his wonderful book “Nishikigoi - Still Waters,” but most newer hobbyists will know him for his latest creation “The Nishikigoi Yearbook.”
Nigel was a ferociously passionate ambassador of all things Nishikigoi and his no-nonsense approach and high standards for sharing quality koi material was truly inspiring.
Team Queni Koi are very generously auctioning this lovely yamamatsu sanke in honour of Nigel and all proceeds will go to Wigan & Leigh Hospice, chosen by Nigel‘s family.
Mike asked if I fancied writing a short appreciation of the koi, but in this case I think I’ll let his pictures do the talking. There are plenty of positives to this lovely sanke, but as Nigel would say, they’re all irrelevant unless you like it in the first place!
If you do like this very attractive koi, get on it! You’ll be supporting a truly worthy cause.
“Content is and always will be king, but when people are paying real money for it, it also has to be relevant, informative, correct and entertaining and thats harder than it sounds.” - Nigel Caddock.
